Introduction
ABAQUS is a powerful and felxible finite element software package. It is used in many different engineering fields throughout the world. KW use ABAQUS to perform static and/or dynamic analysis and simulation on 3D models. It can deal with bodies with various loads, temperatures, contacts, impacts, and other environmental conditions.

Software - Abaqus
Areas that it is commonly used are such as pipeline lateral buckling and walking analysis, ultimate load assessments, impact analysis, fishing gear interaction analysis, failure investigations, and fitness for purpose assessments to justify use of outwith-code equipment.
Appropriate FE methods are fully integrated into the design of subsea facilities, ensuring accurate performance predictions for pipelines, spools and structures. Pipe-soil interaction, reeling deformations, and post-yield response of HPHT systems are all modelled using advanced non-linear FEA techniques.
