Introduction

As seabed is acting as the foundation or support for the offshore platforms or pipelines, seabed condition and soil properties (geotechnical condition) is required. Seabed could be gravel, sand, silt or clay, each with its own geotechnical properties. Soil properties are usually collected through geotechnical surveys which carry out soil testing and sampling, where detailed soil laboratory testing of this sample might be required for the project.
